Buy the Shirt!

Update: 2/15/08
And then there were six… Hey gang - the last Medium T-shirt just went out the door, so now I’m down to the last six XL shirts! As always, first come, first served. I’m still trying to dig myself out of job-work, so if you’re not an XL and want to reserve a different size when the new shirts are ordered, send me an email using the link on the right.
Update: 1/25/08
We’re down to the last nine shirts! And it turns out that all of my friends are smaller than I thought they’d be. Work’s been crazy as of late, so I’m still working on getting the new site together and placing an order for more shirts. If you’re not a medium or XL and would like one of the first ones in the new batch send me an email using the link on the right. I don’t know when I’ll be ordering the next batch, but I’ll put your name on a list to make sure you don’t get lost in the shuffle.
Update: 9/07/07
Shirts are still trickling out, so the war chest is almost built to the point of being able to place the next order! Plus, Big Things are Brewing here at CiMB headquarters. When the next big order is placed, you’re going to be seeing some changes around here. So let’s get these last shirts sold! As I’m writing this, there are 15 left, with the majority being X-Large. Befriend a big bald person today and get ‘em a t-shirt!
Update: 4/25/07
Just a quick update on what’s going on around here. Things have still been going rather insane, but I’m back making money again. We’re still getting back over the hump financially from the unemployed spell, so it’ll still be a little while before I make my next shirt order. I’ve found a couple of possible places to order the next batch of shirts from, one from my random wandering, one from my wife, and one from newest friend of the site, Patrick Tandy (I’ll be sending you an email before too long, Patrick - thanks for the lead!)
The quantities are dwindling, so get your orders in! If you don’t see the size you want, the best bet is to hunt down new cancer buddies who aren’t your size and convince them to come order a shirt! I’m not waiting until the current stock’s gone before ordering, but each shirt sold before I order means a little more money to apply to that next order. More shirts sold = order placed sooner. So get the word out!
Update: 2/21/07
As usual, things are going crazy in my life. As of 2/21/07, I’ve joined the ranks of the unemployed. Aside from the typical issues this causes in one’s life, it also affects the CiMB shirts. I was able to offer a very high quality shirt for a very low price thanks to my employee discount. Since this will no longer be in effect, I’m not sure what the future CiMB shirt will be like or cost.
I am still as passionate about my Grand Idea as I was before, perhaps even moreso after meeting some great survivors at a recent Planet Cancer retreat. One thing should be clear: Cancer is My Bitch is not going away, the shirts will be back, and I’ll finally have some free time to put the reasoning behind my shirt on the site. All that this job loss means to CiMB is that I don’t know when I’ll be ordering more shirts, I don’t know what the quality of those shirts will be, and I don’t know how much said shirts will cost. If you know of a good, high-quality silkscreener with inexpensive shirts, I’d appreciate you telling me about them by emailing me at shirtleads at cancerismybitch dot com.
Ordering Information
NON-US CUSTOMERS, CLICK HERE FOR IMPORTANT INFO!
Price: $13.00 per shirt (shipping included) to me, + the $22 Donation Obligation to somewhere else.
Colors: Like Henry Ford said, you can have any color you want as long as it’s black. That may change in the future, but CiMB would have to get pretty big for this to happen. Remember - it’s just two of us here with a pile of shirts. Maybe when I have minions, you can have a different color.
Shipping Method: If you order one shirt, it will be shipped USPS First Class mail. Order 2-5 shirts and they will be shipped USPS Priority mail. Sounds weird, but it was the cheapest way to get these to you quick and keep the shirt’s cost down.
Shipping Schedule: In the past, if you ordered your shirt by 10PM EST (on weekdays), it shipped out to you the next morning. Now that I’m also in the midst of the job hunt, the order might go out later in the day or possibly the next day. I’m still trying get these out to you quickly, but life is crazy right now.
Paypal/shipping notification emails: There have been a lot of phishing/fraud type scams involving people posing as Paypal and trying to get your information. From what I’ve seen, even some of the legitimate confirmation emails you’ll get from Paypal can be a little strangely worded. Just be assured that no matter what you might get from anything or anyone claiming to be Paypal, you will always get an email from me at this domain telling you that your shirt has been shipped out. Also rest assured that, no emails originating from cancerismybitch.com will ask you for any account information. If you should get a fishy sounding email that appears to be from this domain, forward it to the username shirtsupport at cancerismybitch.com. Do not reply to that email - just forward it. I’ll let you know if it’s legit or not by replying to your forward.
RETURN POLICY: Your remaining shirt choices are listed below. Choose wisely, as there will be no returns. This operation is just my wife and I, and we can’t afford to replace a returned shirt. But hey, they’re cheap! If you pick the wrong size, give it to one of your smaller/larger cancer buddies and come get yourself another one. We’ve gotta get that message out, right?
Payment Methods: Currently, I’m going the quick and easy route and using Paypal for the ordering system. You don’t have to have a Paypal account to order a shirt, and they’ll accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.
If you do want to open a Paypal account, they’ll give you a link to follow during the order process.
NOTE: If you buy a shirt using the “eCheck” option in Paypal, not only does Paypal “suggest” I hold off on the shipping until the eCheck clears (around 4 business days), they also remove all of my shipping tools for that transaction to make sure I listen to them. So now we know: if you pay with a eCheck, there will be at least a 4 business day wait until I can ship your shirt to you.
The Donation Obligation: Be sure to have a look at this page on donations to see how it all works. There is no automatic “X dollars goes to charity” with this shirt - the price you pay is exactly how much it costs to make and ship the shirt to you. By buying this shirt, I’m putting the donation ball in your court. You get to decide who gets the additional money and for how much. There’s no way I can make sure you’re doing this, but let’s just call it a gentleman’s agreement.
Speaking of Donations: If your infusion clinic is like mine, they keep a small assortment of clothes on-hand in case of an accidental chemo spill (I found out the hard way). If you feel like doing a good deed, buy a couple for the clinic while you’re at it. If you’re a little light in the wallet right now, go dig through your closet and find some old clothes to give them. Either way, your nurses will appreciate it and one of your future chemo compadres will appreciate it as well.
As of 02/15/08 at 4:09 PM EST, current stock is:
| Size | Remaining | Meas 1 | Meas 2 | Meas 3 |
| Small | 0 | 17″ | 17 3/4″ | 26 1/2″ |
| Medium | 0 | 19 1/2″ | 20″ | 27″ |
| Large | 0 | 20 1/2″ | 21″ | 28″ |

This is my last stock until I figure out where these will be coming from next. First come, first served by order of email receipt. If what you want is out of stock, I’ll refund your money and keep you on a list to be notified once I find a new supplier.
